The Northern Institute of Social Justice (NISJ) is part of the Continuing Studies: Workforce & Business Development division at Yukon University. The institute opened in January, 2010, and focuses primarily on brokering, coordinating, developing and delivering short training courses and awareness sessions to:
- frontline workers and staff and managers employed in social justice-related work in governments, non-government organizations, and businesses;
- members of quasi-judicial boards and tribunals; and
- members of the public who have a personal of professional interest in a particular topic.
Our training courses and awareness sessions draw people from a variety of fields, such as administrative justice, advocacy, education, health and wellness, justice, policing, regulatory enforcement, social services, and more.
The NISJ is located at Yukon University's Ayamdigut Campus in Whitehorse.
