The Yukon College Ayamdigut Campus Master Plan was initiated to provide a bold, innovative direction to optimize the potential of the College. It builds on the Strategic Plan and the Education Plan to reflect the College’s unique aspirations.
The 2015 Land Use Plan makes use of the entire 97 hectare land reserve by celebrating and enhancing our natural setting and the opportunities it offers as a living classroom. It balances consideration for sensitive ecosystems and existing trails, with the need to grow the campus in the years ahead.
The goal in the creation of this plan has been to develop a compelling campus experience and chart a clear course for the future. After hearing from hundreds of people, and working through a series of technical studies and design exercises supported by leading architects and designers, the results of this creative and thoughtful process are now ready to share.
In 2014-15, Yukon College engaged a wide range of stakeholders in the creation of this plan, including students, faculty, staff, nearby neighbourhoods, First Nations, Yukon Government and the City of Whitehorse.
The Yukon College Board of Governors has begun task of working with our many stakeholders to source funding and planning approvals, allowing us to begin the incremental implementation of this Master Plan.
