RENR 201 - Intro Geomatic Techniques
Introduction to the fundamental theories and concepts of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Course content will include data input, storage and editing, spatial data structures, analytical functions of a GIS, data output, management of GIS, and applications of GIS. Laboratory exercises will complement the theory presented in the lectures.
Students must also register in RENR 201L, the mandatory lab component of this course.
Prerequisites: Strong computer skills (Windows environment)
Registration restricted to students in the B.Sc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences program. This course is also available as GEOG 250. Non-B.Sc. ENCS students interested in taking RENR 201 should instead register in GEOG 250.
