This course provides instruction in the traditional arts of moose hair and caribou hair tufting, porcupine quill work, and fish scale art. Instruction will include the collection, cleaning, dyeing and storing of these natural materials and the tools and supplies required for each art form. Students will complete samplers of each art form and make a floral appliqué of hair tufting, porcupine quill earrings, and a fish scale brooch.
