EL 212 - Nurturing Reciprocity with Families
Relational pedagogy invites educators to nurture cultures of partnership, reciprocity, and joy in being together with families. Wisdom guided by traditional knowledges provides opportunities to reflect on beliefs and practices that keep families at the centre of early learning communities. We consider our collective obligation and ethical responsibility as educators to listen for and honour the strengths that emerge in stories families tell. Drawing on your previous learning and curiosities you are invited to practice multiple ways of fostering reciprocal and responsive relationships with families and communities.
Prerequisite(s): successful completion of all required 100-level courses including ENGL 100 or with program permission.
