CRIM 101 - Introduction to Criminology
This course introduces the student to the terminology, concepts, and subject matter of criminology. The course includes consideration of definitions of crime, the cultural and historic relativity of crime, measures of crime, and the nature of criminology as a science and discipline. Theoretical perspectives of crime and deviance including the early demonic, classical and positivist approaches as well as contemporary biological, psychological, and sociological explanations are surveyed.
