Yukon Master Gardener

Master Gardener is a standardized training program delivered throughout North America focusing on building gardening expertise. The Yukon Master Gardener provides northern examples with a focus on gardening in cold climates.

Our group of experienced gardening instructors bring a wealth of northern gardening expertise, providing a broad background in plant botany, permaculture, physiology, taxonomy, soils, compost, outdoor gardening, greenhouse management, lawn care, houseplants, pests and pest control, medicinal plants, woody perennials and ornamental horticulture.

Yukon Wildlife Sounds: An Introduction to Bioacoustics

Did you know that some animals use sound to communicate in ways humans cannot naturally hear? Have you ever wondered what the call of a moose, the grunt of a bear, the howl of a wolf, all sound like?

This is an introduction to the nature of sound with particular attention on animal sound data collection and analysis. The knowledge and skills that this course will introduce will appeal to nature enthusiasts, in broadening your interaction and connection with the natural world around you, or as  nature-based professionals, in providing additional options for environmental monitoring.
