Yukon University seeks a dynamic Yukon First Nation educator to lead the Yukon First Nations Arts Program (YFNA) for a 2-year term position. YFNA is a certificate program delivered in Yukon communities on a rotational basis. This position is responsible for bringing best teaching practices in First Nation Arts in a postsecondary environment into the program; coordinating the program, including reviewing curriculum; relationship building with external partners, including Yukon First Nations; and acting as the lead for the program within the School of Academic and Skill Development.
The ideal candidate will have a Master of Fine Arts or Indigenous Visual Arts or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and cultural diversity theory and practice in delivering educational programming is required. Experience coordinating educational programs or projects and developing community links and partnerships with First Nation communities is essential. A valid driver’s license is also required.
