Reporting to the Department Head of Trades, this position is primarily responsible to instruct the Welding Pre-Apprenticeship program in Dawson City. This program provides opportunities for employment entry, further education/training and/or professional and personal development in the Welding Industry. Duties will include conducting both theoretical & practical lessons, curriculum development, and student advising. The emphasis will be on practical shop components of the program, and the successful candidate will work collaboratively with our Whitehorse-based Welding instructor to teach a special iteration of our program this year in Dawson City.
The ideal candidate will be holding a Red Seal Journeyperson Certification in Welding, First Aid, and WHMIS certification and significant relevant teaching experience. Consideration will be given to candidates with the appropriate blend of education and experience. The successful candidate will be required to live in or near Dawson City to offer face-to-face training to the students. Outside of a competitive salary, no living allowance is available for this position. Some relocation support may be available.
