NOST 201 - The Natural History of the North
This course provides a broad overview of the natural history of circumpolar northern regions. Students study the plants and animals of the North, their adaptations to the environments, and the forces that shape and have shaped the northern landscapes.
Mandatory field activities include two weekend field trips – one to Alaska in early to mid September and another in November. Students must be able to enter the U.S.A. Contact the instructor to confirm the exact dates of the trip.
Prerequisite(s): Enrolled in School of Science or School of Liberal Arts. ENGL 100 or 100-level COMM recommended.
