ASTR CE04 - Dark Sky Responsible Lighting

This course will provide up-to-date information on outdoor lighting design consideration to minimize light pollution while still providing a safe, comfortable night time environment. The course is suitable for government and municipal property managers, engineers, architects and conservationists. Participants will learn why responsible sustainable lighting is important, how to make our community's buildings and roadways dark sky friendly and enhance the night-time environment for people. This will include state of the art and evolving research into lighting effects on people, safety and the environment. Topics will include:
